We shipped more than 50 updates to deskbird this quarter. Four of them change how the platform works rather than how a screen looks, so those come first, in full. Everything else is listed underneath by area, briefly.

The four: deskbird Intelligence reached general availability, so occupancy is a measured number rather than an estimate. The MCP connector lets the AI assistant your company already uses ask deskbird questions in plain language. PDF floor plan import ends the round trip to an architect. And the new Plan page starts a hybrid week with the day rather than a booking form.

A real number behind your occupancy

deskbird Desk Occupancy dashboard comparing desks booked against desks actually used, Monday to Friday

Every company measures its money to the last cent and its office by feel. A booking is an intention. Presence is what happened. Until this quarter every space decision rested on the first and was defended as if it were the second.

deskbird Intelligence is now generally available, and included in Professional and Enterprise rather than sold on top. It closes that gap and gives it a number: the floor running at a third of capacity, the desks claimed every Monday and empty every Monday, the one day everyone picks. Measured, not estimated, and without a sensor in the ceiling.

  • Occupancy analytics at office, floor, and desk level, built on real presence rather than bookings, so you can say what a floor costs per person who actually turns up.
  • No hardware to buy. deskbird Dock 1.0 reads presence from the monitors and network your offices already run. Sensors run to roughly €400 a desk. This is zero.
  • No IT project. Dock deploys silently through Microsoft Intune, employees do nothing, and it works out which monitor belongs to which desk by matching weeks of observation against real bookings.
  • Spaces, not people. Three privacy modes, up to identifiers that reset every 24 hours so activity cannot be linked across days. EU hosted, GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2.
  • A figure that survives the board meeting. Export any dashboard as a PDF with your filters, date range, and charts applied, so the number in the pack is the number in the product.

deskbird Intelligence is a copilot, not an autopilot. It tells you what is happening and what changing something would mean. The decision stays with the person who owns it.

Availability: Professional and Enterprise, with one free Dock seat per license, plus standalone for companies that do not run bookings in deskbird.

deskbird inside your AI assistant

Claude answering “Which floor was busiest last week?” with deskbird occupancy data through the MCP connector

Dashboards answer the questions somebody thought of in advance. Most workplace questions are not like that. How did the third floor do last month compared to the one before. Who from the design team is in on Thursday. Is Tuesday still the day everyone picks.

The deskbird MCP connector lets the AI assistant your company already uses ask deskbird those questions directly, in plain language, and get the answer where you are already working.

  • Open standard, not a private integration. MCP is the same connector protocol your other tools use, so deskbird becomes something your stack can call rather than one more place to log in.
  • Your booking and occupancy data, in a sentence. No export, no dashboard to build first, no analyst in the middle.

Availability: Available now with Claude. Setup is per company and takes a few minutes.

The end of complicated floor plans

deskbird floor plan editor showing a plan imported from PDF, with a meeting room selected for editing

A floor plan used to live with whoever drew it. Moving ten desks meant an email, a wait, and sometimes a quote, which is why so many plans in workplace tools are a year out of date and quietly wrong.

Now you upload the PDF your architect sent. deskbird converts it to an editable floor plan, and the office team moves the desk itself.

  • PDF import from any CAD tool, converted to an editable SVG you can actually change.
  • One editor for areas and resources, with multi-select, copy and paste, and moving desks between areas.
  • Plans up to 15 MB, with transcoding and a quality indicator so you know what you are getting before you commit.
  • Automatic detection of areas and resources finds them on the plan for you, and you can mix it with manual placement. In early access.

Availability: Office admins, IT, and workplace experience teams. Automatic detection is in early access.

A week you can plan at a glance

The new deskbird Plan page showing the week at a glance and 8 colleagues in the office on Thursday

Planning a hybrid week used to start with a booking form, which is backwards. The question is never which desk. It is whether Thursday is worth the commute.

The Plan page starts with the day instead. How full the office will be, which colleagues are coming in, what is on, and everything you already hold, on one card. You decide, then you book.

  • The new Plan page on web, calendar-first, with each day carrying its own context.
  • The mobile app rebuilt around a three-day picker, with busier-day indicators and sections you can reorder.
  • Favorite areas rather than a single desk, because most people want to sit near their team, not in one specific seat.
  • Colleague search on the floor plan. Type a name and the map jumps to where that person is sitting.

Availability: All employees on web and mobile.

Also shipped this quarter

Smaller changes, but the kind you notice on a Tuesday. Grouped the way the platform is built.

deskbird Intelligence

  • Office detection without a location prompt, for offices where IT restricts Wi-Fi scanning. Presence comes from the internet connection alone, with no network names.
  • An admin overview of desk mapping and office detection health across every office, so you know the data is solid before you quote it.
  • Resource detection moved onto its own page, separate from office detection.
  • Email and password sign-in, CSV and API export of mapped monitor data, guided onboarding from install to first number, and one download page for every installer.

deskbird Experience

  • deskbird is back in Slack. Book, check in, finish early and cancel without leaving the conversation, and status sync no longer overwrites a status you set yourself.
  • Four room privacy levels replace the old visible or hidden toggle, so a room can show as busy without showing who booked it.
  • Digital Signage Rooms Overview turns any office TV into a live availability board, per floor.
  • Custom colors and icons per scheduling status, a half-day toggle per status, and a printable A3 room schedule.
  • License plates on the employee profile, filled in automatically on every booking, with bulk CSV import and export.
  • Campus support, in beta. Group nearby offices into one Site so parking is shared across buildings.
  • Unified kiosks and displays in one admin section, a floor plan visual redesign, and an image enhancer that runs in under half the time.
  • Self-serve billing for contacts, addresses, payment methods and invoices, plus a setup guide for new admins and a rebuilt sign-up flow.
  • UK and US English as separate language options, alongside Hungarian and Czech, with date and time formats matching everywhere.

deskbird Operations

  • Room booking approvals, extended across the quarter to every room type: deskbird rooms in July, Outlook-synced rooms in August, Google-synced rooms in September. The slot is held while a request is pending, an unanswered request releases itself, a recurring series is decided in one action, and a decline carries a reason. Requires Rooms Plus.
  • Visitor badge printing from the kiosk, in a design you control down to the fields and orientation, with visitors registered from inside a room booking and automatic emails when a visit type changes. Requires Visitors Plus.
  • Internal notes on tickets, a form builder so each Catering and Services category asks for what it needs, more people able to own a ticket, and default buffer times around catered meetings.

What this quarter added up to

Occupancy stopped being an estimate, floor plans stopped needing an architect, and planning a week stopped starting with a form. If one of those is a problem you have been carrying, the Help Center covers most of what is above, and your CSM can walk through what applies to your plan and your offices.
